CCTV and Security System Best Practices for Nigerian Enterprises

Security infrastructure is only as good as its design. We have seen too many installations where cameras cover the wrong areas, NVRs lack sufficient storage, and access control systems are easily bypassed.

The foundation of any effective security system starts with a site survey. Our team evaluates entry points, blind spots, lighting conditions, and traffic patterns before recommending a single piece of equipment.

For enterprise deployments, we standardize on Hikvision and Dahua cameras for their reliability, image quality, and integration capabilities. IP cameras with 4MP resolution are our minimum recommendation — anything less compromises evidence quality.

Network Video Recorders (NVRs) should be sized for at least 30 days of continuous recording at full resolution. For a 16-camera system recording at 4MP, this means approximately 16TB of storage.

Access control integration is where most security systems fall short. We use ZKTeco biometric readers paired with Gallagher or JVA perimeter detection to create layered security that logs every entry and exit with timestamp accuracy.
